KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the government has introduced a social media-related bill without curtailing even an inch of people’s rights.

Speaking at an international conference on digital crimes in Kathmandu on Thursday, he stated that lawlessness, anarchy, and activities that degrade society, culture, and proud traditions would not be acceptable.

He emphasized that destructive cultural narratives and politics based on hatred cannot be tolerated.

PM Oli pledged to curb actions that ruin businesses, destroy families, defame individuals, spread distrust, and create confusion.

He also stated that crimes like rape are unacceptable and that opposing efforts to control such offenses is an irrational argument.

Highlighting the need to prevent anti-social activities, he noted that some people mistakenly perceive criminal success as actual success.
