KATHMANDU: Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya has announced his return to work after a 12-day hospital stay.

He was hospitalized at Kirtipur Hospital, Kathmandu, following a technical mishap during the formal launch of ‘Pokhara Visit Year 2025′ last week.

The incident also affected Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, causing burn-related issues.

On Thursday, Acharya shared a public message updating about his recovery.

He expressed gratitude to the doctors, medical staff, and hospital team involved in his treatment.

Additionally, he extended his thanks to Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Poudel, President Ram Chandra Poudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, other key leaders, diplomatic missions, and the people of Pokhara for their support.

“In this challenging time, your solidarity, kind messages, and encouragement have been deeply inspiring. Now, I am ready to return to Pokhara and resume my duties, looking forward to your continued support and suggestions,” Acharya stated.

Regarding his health, Acharya emphasized the need for special precautions. He must avoid direct sunlight, crowded places, and strictly follow medical protocols for at least six months. “No handshakes, regular health check-ups, and strict adherence to doctors’ advice are essential,” he added.
