UML leader dies of falling off cliff

KATHMANDU: Narendra Kathayat, a leader of the CPN-UML from Pachaljharana Rural Municipality-2, Khayarkot, has died after falling off a cliff.

Kathayat, 32, who served as the deputy secretary of the UML’s Pachaljharana rural committee, was returning home from Jajarkot on Monday evening when he slipped and fell from Lafa Cliff.

According to District Police spokesperson Govinda Prasad Chaudhary, the accident occurred due to the difficult terrain, causing him to fall off the cliff and die on the spot.

Kathayat’s body was found near the banks of the Karnali River, police confirmed.
