Two minors held for murdering friend

KATHMANDU: Dailekh police have arrested two minors for the murder of an 11-year-old boy from Dullu Municipality.
The boy had been missing since Feb 7 (Magh 25), and his body was later found buried near a river, police said.
According to the District Police Office, the victim’s family had filed a missing complaint on Feb 8 (Magh 26) at the Ilaka Police Office, Dullu.
During the investigation, the victim’s friends confessed to the crime, revealing that they had killed him and buried his body near the river.
Based on their statement, police took two minors, aged 14 and 17, into custody on Sunday. Dailekh Police Chief DSP Sunil Dahal stated that the suspects are being held in the juvenile detention unit for further investigation.
“The three had allegedly stolen a gold necklace (Tilhari) from a house. A dispute arose while trying to sell it, leading to the murder,” DSP Dahal said. “The victim was killed on the same day he went missing.”
Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
