Divers deployed to search for missing Rana in Trishuli River

KATHMANDU: A motorcyclist went missing after his bike plunged into the Trishuli River from the Narayangadh-Kathmandu road section.

A team of divers has been deployed for the search operation.

The incident occurred on Friday morning when a motorcycle (Bagmati Province 06-02-P 9204) traveling from Muglin to Narayangadh hit a divider and fell into the Trishuli River at Chattane Bhir (Kalikhola) in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan.

The rider, identified as 27-year-old Rohit Rana from Chandreshwar-3, Lamjung, has been missing since the accident.

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa of the Chitwan District Police Office, a team of six divers from the Armed Police Force’s Disaster Management Training Academy in Kurintar, led by Inspector Suryaram Raut, has been deployed for the search.

Police recovered an identity card at the accident site confirming that Rana was affiliated with the Indian Army.
