KAATHMANDU: The Nepal women’s cricket team faced its fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing T20 International series against the Netherlands and Thailand at Tribhuvan University Ground, Kirtipur.

Struggling with poor batting performances throughout the series, Nepal lost twice each to the Netherlands and Thailand.

On Tuesday, Nepal fell short by six runs against Thailand while chasing a 107-run target.

Nepal managed only 101 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Rubina Chhetry top-scored for Nepal with 26 runs, while Kavita Joshi contributed 24.

Pooja Mahato (18) and Roma Thapa (19) also made notable contributions. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to make an impact, with captain Indu Barma scoring just three runs.

For Thailand, Thipatcha Putthawong was the standout bowler, taking four wickets, while Phannita Maya claimed two.

Earlier, Thailand won the toss and posted 106/6 in 20 overs. Thipatcha Putthawong (26*) and Chanida Sutthiruang (27*) played crucial innings to rescue Thailand after an early collapse.

Opener Nattaya Boochatham scored 10, while Nannapat Koncharoenkai added 19.

Nepal’s bowling unit showed some fight, with Manisha Upadhyay taking three wickets, while Pooja Mahato and Rachana Chaudhary picked up one wicket each.

With this defeat, Nepal remains winless in the series, struggling to find form with the bat.
