PM Oli launches HPV vaccination campaign
The campaign will run until Feb 18.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign to protect adolescent girls from cervical cancer on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
At a special event held at Shivapuri Higher Secondary School in Baluwatar today, PM Oli handed over vaccination supplies to health workers from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, marking the official launch of the campaign.
The campaign will run until Feb 18, aiming to immunize 1.68 million girls aged 10 to 14, including those in grades 6 to 10 and out-of-school adolescents across the country.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, four women in Nepal die from cervical cancer every day.
Caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in Nepal.
