Man held with contraband drugs in Birgunj, Parsa
The authorities caught Ram while he was crossing the border on foot from India, carrying a green sack.
KATHMANDU: Parsa District Police have apprehended a man with various types of drugs in the Customs area of Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 on Dec 30.
The Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal, stationed at the proposed Border Security Unit in Birgunj, detained 36-year-old Mishri Ram, a resident of Nagardaha, Bahudamai Rural Municipality-3, in the same district.
The authorities caught Ram while he was crossing the border on foot from India, carrying a green sack.
Inside the sack, concealed among other items, were 490 ampoules of Diazepam, 499 ampoules of Buprenorphine, 297 ampoules of Nofin, and 497 ampoules of Promethazine Hydrochloride injection.
The suspect and the confiscated drugs have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
