Kumari Capital & Dhruva Capital sign MoU to boost foreign investment in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Kumari Capital Limited and India’s renowned Dhruva Capital Services Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today.
Under the terms of this agreement, the two companies will collaborate to promote foreign investment in Nepal through institutional advisory services provided by the capital market.
Kumari Capital Limited has been offering financial services, investment management, and institutional advisory services in Nepal. Dhruva Capital Services Limited, based in India, is a non-banking financial company (NBFC) licensed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The company plans to invest in both listed and unlisted companies in Nepal. Additionally, it aims to invest in the founding shares of listed banks and financial institutions, as well as in hydropower projects in Nepal.
These investments are expected to focus on contributing to the sustainable development of Nepal’s energy, financial, and social sectors.
According to the companies, under this agreement, Kumari Capital will act as an intermediary to facilitate and manage investments in Nepal, assisting in foreign investment facilitation and the implementation of strategic plans.
This partnership is expected to accelerate the flow of foreign investment into Nepal and support the country’s sustainable economic growth.
During the signing ceremony, Pushpa Sharma, CEO of Kumari Capital Limited, described the partnership as a significant step for Nepal’s capital market sector. He expressed confidence that it would add a new dimension to Nepal’s economic development and contribute to creating a more favorable environment for foreign investment.
On behalf of Dhruva Capital Services Limited, a spokesperson stated their excitement about investing in a promising market like Nepal.
They expressed confidence that the established local partner, Kumari Capital, would facilitate a smooth and effective investment process.
As per the agreement, Kumari Capital will assist in identifying investment opportunities in Nepal, providing legal and financial advisory services, project evaluation, and supporting the management of the investment process for Dhruva Capital Services Limited.
