NEPSE sees significant increase

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which had been declining for the past five trading days, saw a significant rise today.
The NEPSE index increased by 45.88 points, reaching 2,715.71, marking a growth of 1.71%.
Despite the rise in the index, the trading volume shrank to Rs 5 billion.
A total of 1,138,654 shares of 308 companies were traded 56,350 times, with a total transaction value of NPR 5,050,654,450.
All sectors saw an increase in their sub-indices, except for the Mutual Fund sub-sector, which dropped by 0.34%.
The Banking sector recorded the highest growth, rising by 3.43%. Other sectors also saw positive growth, including Development Banks (1.63%), Finance (1.83%), Hotels and Tourism (0.05%), Hydroelectric (1.96%), and Investment (0.79%).
Other sectors that experienced growth include Life Insurance (0.07%), Manufacturing and Processing (0.60%), Microfinance (0.42%), Non-Life Insurance (0.03%), Trading (0.56%), and Others (0.57%).
Among individual stocks, the share price of Nyadi Hydropower Limited increased the most, rising by 9.97%.
On the other hand, Khani Khola Hydropower Company Limited saw the biggest decrease in its share price, dropping by 9.99%.
In terms of transaction value, Janaki Finance Company Limited had the highest trade volume, with shares worth Rs 36,015,243 being bought and sold today.
