Parliamentary hearing for proposed ambassador to Sri Lanka Purna Bahadur Nepali begins

KATHMANDU: The parliamentary hearing for Nepal’s proposed ambassador to Sri Lanka, Purna Bahadur Nepali, has begun.
The hearing took place on Wednesday in the Parliamentary Hearing Committee at Singha Durbar, where Purn Bahadur Nepali was being reviewed for the position of Nepal’s residential ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The government had recommended Nepali for this post.
During the committee’s meeting, Chairperson Ishwori Devi Nyaupane announced that the parliamentary process for the proposed ambassador had started and instructed the committee secretary to publish the proposed ambassador’s name in the electronic media.
She also mentioned that a decision had been made to invite complaints against the proposed ambassador.
According to Nepal’s Constitution, after the parliamentary hearing process is completed by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, the President’s approval is required to finalize the appointment.
