Nobel Hospital offers special discounts to Biratnagar Ward 4 residents
This initiative was formalized on Dec 8 through a signed agreement between Ward Chairperson Mr. Jitan Thapa and the hospital’s director, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Nepal.
KATHMANDU: Residents of Ward No. 4 in Biratnagar Metropolitan City will receive special discounts for treatments at Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital.
This initiative was formalized on Dec 8 through a signed agreement between Ward Chairperson Mr. Jitan Thapa and the hospital’s director, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Nepal.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Nepal emphasized that the initiative is part of the hospital’s social responsibility. Previously, discounts were offered to economically disadvantaged patients upon recommendation from the ward office.
However, this formal agreement simplifies the process and makes discounts accessible to all ward residents.
Ward Chairperson Thapa expressed confidence that this arrangement would benefit residents financially by reducing the need to seek medical services elsewhere.
He highlighted the convenience of having comprehensive medical services within their locality.
The agreement, effective from Dec 8, until mid-July 2025 (2082 Asar end), offers the following discounts to Ward No. 4 residents:
- 25% discount on hospital services
- 10% discount on surgery fees and medications
- 20% co-payment reduction for patients covered under the Social Security Fund
Patients need to present identification documents to avail of these benefits.
The agreement may be renewed based on mutual evaluation of its effectiveness.
Under the leadership of Federal MP Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Nobel Teaching Hospital has been conducting free health camps across Nepal, providing free treatment to underprivileged patients, and offering subsidized healthcare services.
Additionally, through Dr. Sharma’s efforts, economically disadvantaged students have received scholarships in fields like medicine, dentistry, nursing, and paramedical studies.
Many of these students have graduated and are now contributing as skilled healthcare professionals across various regions.
