15th AGM of Arpan Savings and Credit Cooperative concluded

KATHMANDU: The 15th Annual General Meeting of Arpan Savings and Credit Cooperative was held on Saturday.
The event was inaugurated by the Mayor of Ratnanagar Municipality, Pralad Sapkota.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the cooperative, Mohadatt Poudel (Suraj), presented the annual work plan, policies, and programs, while the Secretary, Mahesh Pandey, provided the progress report.
The Treasurer, Tuknath Acharya, shared the financial report, and Krishna Prasad Acharya, a member of the Audit Committee, presented the internal audit report.
The ceremony also included awards for outstanding contributors: Som Bahadur Gurung, Tulsi Ram Chapai, and Laxmi Acharya Subedi were recognized as the best savers; Om Prasad Chalise and Deepakumari Darai for their excellence in loans; Subham Lamichhane and Nischal Acharya for outstanding performance in Plus Two exams; and Gunakumari Pandey was honored as the senior most shareholder.
Additionally, Milon Poudel was recognized as the best employee in the role of loan assistant. The awards were presented by the cooperative’s Board Member, Dhurvaraj Lamichhane.
Established in 2067 BS, the cooperative currently has 4,062 shareholder members. With a share capital of Rs 46.2 million, it has provided loans amounting to Rs 123.1 million and collected savings of Rs 127.2 million, as shared by the Chair, Poudel.
The program also featured speeches from Ward No. 1 Chair Kul Prasad Sapkota, Senior Vice-Chair of the District Cooperative Association, Premnath Duwadi, Assistant Secretary of the District Savings and Credit Cooperative Association, Ritu Giri, former Chairperson Meghnath Poudel, and former Chair Yaman Bhusal.
The event was chaired by Chair Poudel, with Vice Chair Ram Kumar Bajagain delivering the welcome address.
As part of the event, a special gesture by the Mayor Sapkota included providing funds for health insurance coverage for five underprivileged families, as part of the recognition presented to him. The event was organized by the Secretary, Pandey.
