Rabi Lamichhane’s statement incomplete, resumes tomorrow
After the statement in Kathmandu, Lamichhane will be taken back to Kaski and then to Chitwan, according to the police.
KATHMANDU: The statement of Rastritya Swatantra Party (RSP) President and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, which began at 10:30 AM on Sunday at the Government Attorney’s Office in Kathmandu, has concluded.
However, since his statement was not completed, it will continue on Monday. Lamichhane had also given a statement last Friday.
The police are investigating him in connection with the embezzlement of funds from the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative in Kathmandu.
Lamichhane was arrested on November 18 from the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, after a warrant was issued by the Kathmandu District Court. He was brought to Kathmandu from Kaski.
After the statement in Kathmandu, Lamichhane will be taken back to Kaski and then to Chitwan, according to the police.
Former DIG Chabilal Joshi has also been brought to Chitwan today for questioning regarding the embezzlement of funds at the Sahara Chitwan Multipurpose Cooperative.
Lamichhane is under investigation for charges including cooperative fraud, money laundering, and organized crime.
