KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has refused to register a writ petition challenging the decision not to prosecute former Koshi State Law Minister Lilaballav Adhikari.

Registrar Bhadrakali Pokhrel rejected the writ filed by Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi on Sunday.

Advocate Tripathi had sought the annulment of the Kathmandu District Attorney Office’s decision not to prosecute Adhikari and requested an order for the submission of a fresh charge sheet.

Registrar Pokhrel, however, stated that the law grants the District Attorney the authority to decide whether to prosecute or not.

Citing this legal provision, the writ was dismissed.
