5 killed in suspension bridge wall collapsed
Seven workers were at the site, and two managed to escape.
KATHMANDU: Five workers have died after a wall collapsed at the construction site of a suspension bridge in Rolpa today.
According to Lumbini State Deputy Inspector General of Police Kuber Kathayat, the incident occurred in Sunchahari Rural Municipality-3, Gama, where the supporting wall of the bridge under construction collapsed, burying the victims.
The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Dujman Pariyar, 31-year-old Om Pariyar, 40-year-old Subitra Pariyar, 27-year-old Aiti Pariyar, and 66-year-old Deviram Pariyar, all from the same area.
The collapse occurred while a suspension bridge was being constructed to connect Maulabang and Bahiri villages.
