Rabi’s statement ongoing at attorney’s office

KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been taken to the Government Attorney’s Office for further statement. He has been in police custody in Kathmandu since Friday.
Lamichhane, who was brought to the Government Attorney’s Office earlier today, has begun recording his statement.
He was transported to Kathmandu from Pokhara on Thursday evening but could not complete his statement.
Consequently, he remained in custody in Kathmandu until at least Sunday.
His statement, which began on Friday morning, concluded at 3:30 PM that day.
Lamichhane had been held in custody by the Kaski Police in connection to a cooperative fraud case.
He was brought to Kathmandu to provide a statement regarding allegations of fraud involving the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative in Kalimati.
If the statement concludes today, preparations are in place to return him to Pokhara.
