KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Jhalanath Khanal, departed for Guangzhou, China, today to attend a global conference.

Speaking briefly to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Khanal emphasized the importance of Nepal accepting China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project.

“Nepal must accept the BRI, considering its needs and interests,” he said. “Strengthening Nepal-China relations is crucial. Through the BRI, we can receive loans and grants. Our decisions should always align with national interests.”
