Martin Guptill hits quickfire half-century in NPL

KATHMANDU: Biratnagar Kings’ opener Martin Guptill showcased his brilliance with a half-century against Janakpur Bolts in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Opting to bat first after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Biratnagar faced early setbacks.

Opener Lokesh Bam was dismissed for 6 runs, and one-down batter Aqib Ilyas departed for 15 runs.

However, Guptill steadied the innings and reached his fifty with a towering six off Ben Mike in the first ball of the 13th over.

Guptill’s half-century came off just 36 balls, including seven boundaries and one six, ensuring Biratnagar had a strong foundation.
