KATHMANDU: The prize money for the first edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) has been set at Rs 21.1 million.

The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) provided this information.

According to CAN, the winning team will receive Rs 11.1 million.

This is the highest prize pool ever for any national competition.

The previous record was held by the 2014-15 National League champions, Three Star Club, which received a record prize of Rs 10 million from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). This record has now been broken by the NPL.

Additionally, the second-place team in the NPL will receive Rs 5 million, the third-place team will get Rs 3 million, and the fourth-place team will receive Rs 2 million.

In total, CAN will spend Rs 21.1 million on the prize money for the NPL.
