KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has returned to Nepal after an official visit to China at the invitation of her Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

During her visit, she held talks in Chengdu on strengthening Nepal-China ties and preparations for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s visit from Dec 2 to 5.

Key discussions focused on advancing Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects in Nepal through grant-based support, as Nepal faces challenges in taking loans.

China expressed a positive stance on Nepal’s proposals, assuring internal deliberations, while urging Nepal to prioritize its agendas.

Minister Deuba remains optimistic about further progress during PM Oli’s upcoming trip.

The visit emphasized bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, and socio-economic partnerships.
