Man held for planting bomb outside Deuba’s Dhangadhi residence
The suspect, identified as Dan Bahadur Dhami from Gauriganga Municipality, was apprehended on Friday.
KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested for allegedly placing a bomb outside the residence of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Dhangadhi.
The suspect, identified as Dan Bahadur Dhami from Gauriganga Municipality, was apprehended on Friday.
According to the police, the arrest was made based on a statement given by a leader of the CPN (Majority) who is in custody at the District Police Office, Parsa.
The detained leader claimed to have instructed Dhami to plant the bomb. While Dhami is reportedly linked to the CPN (Majority), he is now asserting his association with the Biplav-led faction, police said.
In a previous incident last August, an unidentified group had placed an explosive device near Deuba’s residence.
The bomb was later defused by the Nepal Army’s explosives disposal team.
