KATHMANDU: In the ongoing Asia Cup for players under 19 in the UAE, Sri Lanka has set Nepal a target of 234 runs.

Opting to bat first after losing the toss, Sri Lanka managed to score 233 runs before being dismissed in 49.4 overs.

Sri Lanka’s Sharujan Shanmugam was the top scorer with 62 runs, while Lakvinda Abeysinghe contributed a solid 50 runs.

For Nepal, Santosh Yadav was the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets.

Youngsters Yuvraj Khatri took 2 wickets, and Captain Hemanta Dhami and Naren Saud each took 1 wicket.

Nepal, who are playing their first match against Sri Lanka today, will face Bangladesh on Dec 1st, and in their final group stage match, they will play Afghanistan on Dec 3rd.
