KATHMANDU: In a dramatic clash at Al-Awwal Park on Friday night, Al-Qadsiah stunned Al-Nassr with a 2-1 victory, denting Cristiano Ronaldo’s hopes of winning the Saudi Pro League title.

Al-Nassr took an early lead in the 32nd minute through captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s well-taken goal.

However, their advantage lasted less than five minutes, as Julian Quiñones equalized for Al-Qadsiah.

The decisive moment came in the 50th minute when former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winner, bringing Al-Qadsiah level on points with the Riyadh giants at 22.

Al-Nassr, aiming to keep pressure on the top two teams, suffered a significant setback with this defeat.

After 11 matches, Al-Nassr sits on 22 points, trailing league leaders Al-Hilal, who have 28 points, and second-placed Al-Ittihad with 27.

Both Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad have played one game fewer than Al-Nassr.

A win for Al-Hilal against Al-Khaleej on Saturday could see them extend their lead to nine points, widening the gap further.
