MP Dr. Sunil Sharma & Japanese lawmaker Tetsuya Kubota meets in Japan
Both lawmakers highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries and emphasized the need for continued collaboration at both governmental and grassroots levels.
KATHMANDU: Dr. Sunil Sharma, a member of the Nepali Parliament and leader of the Nepali Congress, recently met Tetsuya Kubota, a member of Japan’s House of Councillors, in Tokyo.
The meeting, facilitated by Chiranjeevi Thapa, a leader of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Nepal and Japan.
Both lawmakers highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries and emphasized the need for continued collaboration at both governmental and grassroots levels.
Dr. Sharma expressed appreciation for Japan’s significant contributions to Nepal’s development, urging Kubota to continue supporting these efforts.
During the meeting, Dr. Sharma invited Kubota to visit Nepal, particularly Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, and suggested meditating together for peace and joy.
The event was also attended by Babi Kumar Rai, the Chairperson of Miklajung Rural Municipality in Morang, and businessman Jiban Khadka, among others.
