KATHMANDU: Hong Kong star batsman Babar Hayat has signed with Karnali Yaks for the upcoming Nepal Premium League (NPL).
He confirmed the signing to Makalu Khabar, stating that he will be with Karnali for the entire season, which kicks off on Nov 30.
Babar expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, sharing his positive experiences playing on Nepali pitches. “I’m eager to deliver my best performance; I’ve had a great experience playing in Nepal,” he said. “I’ve played a lot of cricket in Nepal, and NPL will be another exciting league.”
This is not Babar’s first time playing in Nepal, as he has previously participated in matches there.
Karnali Yaks is coached by former Nepal national team captain Gyanendra Malla, and their marquee player is Sompal Kami, a prominent fast bowler in the Nepali national team.
