Dhorpatan Mayor Nepali Brought to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Baglung’s Dhorpatan Municipality Mayor, Dev Kumar Nepali, was brought to Kathmandu on Saturday.

Nepali, who also served as the chair of Image Savings and Credit Cooperative, was arrested in Delhi, India, and transported to Kathmandu.

Along with Nepali, Om Prasad Darji, another individual involved in the cooperative fraud case, was also brought to Kathmandu.

Both had been fugitives in connection with the cooperative fraud charges.

An arrest warrant was issued against Nepali on 3 June 2023, followed by an Interpol Red Notice on 3 Feb 2024.

The police have stated that both arrested individuals will be transferred to the District Police Office in Baglung for legal action.
