Two judges recommended for appointment to SC

KATHMANDU: In a meeting held on Friday, the Judicial Council recommended two individuals for appointment as justices of the Supreme Court.

The Council selected Chief Judge Nirpadhoj Niraula of the Patan High Court and Judge Nityananda Pandey of the Tulsipur High Court for the positions.

If their names are approved by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, they will be appointed as justices of the Supreme Court.

Currently, there are four vacant positions for judges in the Supreme Court.

Additionally, Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha is set to retire next week.
