KATHMANDU: The Naubise-Kathmandu road has been blocked due to a landslide caused by continuous rainfall since Thursday night.

Mud and debris from the landslide have blocked both sides of the road, causing severe disruption for travelers.

The landslide occurred near the Naubise tunnel. With the road closed, passengers have been stranded and are facing difficulties.

The Department of Meteorology has predicted heavy rainfall until Sunday.

In light of this, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority issued a notice on Thursday, advising against operating night buses for two days and urging people to avoid non-essential travel.

The Meteorology Department has already warned that 56 districts are at high risk of landslides and urged the public to remain cautious.
