IFC to expand investments in Nepal: Focus on green energy & job creation
According to the Finance Minister's private secretariat, IFC invested $100 million in Nepal last year.
KATHMANDU: The International Finance Corporation (IFC) plans to expand its investments in Nepal.
During a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel at the Ministry of Finance today, Imad Fakhoury, IFC’s South Asia Director, informed that IFC is ready to increase its investments in Nepal.
According to the Finance Minister’s private secretariat, IFC invested $100 million in Nepal last year.
Fakhoury emphasized that IFC’s priorities include green energy, job creation, and economic inclusion, and expressed his commitment to broadening investments in Nepal.
The Finance Minister’s private secretariat also noted that Minister Paudel stressed the need for additional investments to improve the country’s economy and urged that the expansion be aligned with the country’s priorities and needs.
