KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank, known for its dynamic banking practices, is requesting its valued customers to update their Permanent Account Numbers (PAN) in their accounts.

This update is required to align with the PAN system issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Internal Revenue, as per the Income Tax Act of 2058.

Customers can update their PAN by accessing the “PAN UPDATE” option on the bank’s portal at panupdate.nicasiabank.com or via the NIC ASIA MoBank mobile banking app. Additionally, customers can apply to update their PAN at any of the bank’s branch offices for their convenience.

Updating PAN is essential for reflecting tax deductions related to deposit interest payments in the E-TDS records. Once the PAN is updated, the income tax system will automatically reconcile the deduction details with Schedule 10, streamlining the process of obtaining tax deduction certificates and tax payment certificates. This process aims to eliminate the need for customers to visit the bank for these certificates.

The bank also emphasizes that it will not be responsible for any discrepancies in the E-TDS records or additional adjustments needed due to unupdated PANs.

For customers who have already provided their PAN but have not seen it reflected in their tax deduction details, they are advised to contact the nearest branch office or customer service center at the phone numbers 1660-01-77771 or 01-5970101 for assistance.
