KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has fixed the date of Mangsir 28 (Dec 14) on the petition of former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, who is imprisoned in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.

Previously, on Mangsir 15 (Dec 1), it was decided to put six individuals in detention to the bench of the third judge due to a disagreement between the judges Janak Pandey and Prakash Kharel over the case of ex-home minister Khand.

According to the said decision, the hearing will be disputed in front of a judge’s bench.

Following the hearing on Mangsir 28 (Dec 14), the single bench will rule whether Khand will be kept in jail or freed on bail.

Judge Pandey of the Mangsir 15 (Dec 1) joint bench decided that he be released on 30 lakh bail, while another Judge Kharel ordered that he be remanded in jail.

As a result, the trial has been set for the third judge’s bench on Mangsir 28 (Dec 14).
