Drug lab destroyed in central Afghanistan

BAMYAN, AFGHANISTAN: Police have discovered and destroyed a drug processing lab in Shibar district of central Afghanistan’s Bamyan province, the provincial police office said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police have also set on fire illicit drugs from the site and arrested two people, the statement said.

In addition, security forces discovered illicit drugs including opium poppy and heroin, and arrested two alleged drug smugglers in west Afghanistan’s Nimroz province a couple of days ago.

The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to fight against criminal activities including drug-related crimes.
