NC sending a team including engineers & carpenters to earthquake affected areas

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to send a group of volunteers, including engineers and carpenters, to Jajarkot and Rukum West to help earthquake victims build shelters.
The decision was made at a meeting of the office-bearers held on Monday morning in Dhumbarahi.
In addition to the decision to send 25 volunteer teams to Jajarkot and Rukum West to build shelters for earthquake victims, each team will have one engineer, one carpenter, and one manager, according to Meen Bahadur Bishwakarma, Head of Publicity Department.
According to him, it was decided to send volunteers in groups of ten.
So far, ten earthquake victims have died as a result of the cold. The Congress has decided to donate labor for the tower’s construction, citing the fact that earthquake victims are suffering from the cold.
Priority has been given to construction work for families who have given birth and the elderly, according to Vishwakarma, Head of Publicity Department.
Furthermore, the Congress has requested that the government provide the relief funds that are supposed to be provided for the tower’s construction as soon as possible.
He stated that the Congress is planning to construct a total of 1000 towers.
He said, “By sending volunteers, towers for the families of pregnant women and elderly people who are at high risk from the earthquake will be build and the party will bear the expenses of the volunteers who reached to build the temporary homes.”
