Administration’s interest in Dharan’s church & temple dispute

KATHMANDU: District Administration Office Sunsari said that attention has been drawn to the church and temple dispute in Dharan.

Matrika Prasad Nepal, the committee’s secretary, informed that committee head Bishnu Kumar Rai and other town officials reached in Inaruwa on Thursday and handed over the memorandum.
CDO Pandey stated while reading the memorandum that the government has paid close attention to the under-construction church controversy that has been happening for 12-15 days. The memorandum, he added, will be handed to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Pandey stated that both sides must be sensitive and that one religion should not harm the other.
“The Bijayapur area in Dharan Ward No. 14, which is a historical area of the Kirant period,” according to the paper, “is a very important area in terms of Hindu religion and mythology.”
