Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship: Dinesh and Team wins Pro-am Title

KATHMANDU: The team of pro Dinesh Prajapati won the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship pro-am title at the par-72 Gokarna Golf Club on Sunday.
Pro Dinesh was teamed with amateurs Samir Acharya, Col Pratap Bohra, and Arjun Kumar Karki. The team scored 162 points, Pro Dinesh made 41 points, Samir scored 41, Col. Pratap got 40 and Arjun scored 40 points.
The team of pro Bhuwan Nagarkoti (38) and amateurs Tashi Tshiring (39), Ujjwal Pradhananga (38), and Sunil Karki (38) accumulated a total of 153 for the second place.
While the team of pro Bal Bhadra Rai (37) and amateurs Bhairaja Panday (38), Kalsang Lodhe Sherpa (38) and Raju Thakali (38) got 151 points for the third place.
Rekha Ghimire won a trophy for best individual ladies score on the count back after she was tied with Aaiesteena Tandan at 34 points, Rekha scored 18 on the back-nine against 17 of Aaiesteena.
Mandeep KC bagged the longest drive and Bhairaja Pandey Aarti Rajya Laxmi Rana got the closest to the pin.
In all, 135 players including 25 pros took part in the Pro-Am event played under stableford 3/4 handicap format. Top pro scorer was automatically teamed with the top three amateurs for the winning team.
Similarly, fourth, fifth and sixth amateur scorers were teamed with the second best professional for the runner-up team and those amateurs finishing seventh, eighth and ninth were teamed up with the third best professional for the second runner-up team.
Managing Director of Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. Ravi Kumar Rayavaram, Vice President Corporate Ravi KC, Vice President Marketing Dipra Lahiri, Vice President Finance, Vikas Bhutra, President of Professional Golfers Association Nepal Rabindra Man Shrestha, and President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners.
The season ending event of Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23, Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship concluded yesterday and 13th South Asian Games double-gold medalist Subash Tamang clinched the title with 21-under par 267 over 72 holes.
