KATHMANDU: Shahid Smarak ‘A’ Division League clubs have said that they have been wronged by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

The ten clubs in the ‘A’ division league held a press conference on Friday, claiming that ANFA had treated them unfairly.

Clubs have claimed that ANFA has not yet paid the second installment preparation expenditures, match money, match ball, and man of the match payment that the players are entitled to.

Indraman Tuladhar, Chair of Sankata Club and former General Secretary of ANFA, stated that their demands were not realized despite repeated appeals to ANFA.

‘We fell into injustice. We have not received the second installment of preparation expenses. The second installment of preparation fees is yet to arrive. The first leg is complete. We have not received any match funds. ‘The player’s man of the match has not been given, and ANFA is not in a position to give the match ball,’ Tuladhar stated in a press conference, adding, ‘We have asked for the amount we should get. Do not request a grant. Stopping the league would also be detrimental to football. The club has been unfairly treated.’

As preparatory expenses, ANFA decided to award the ‘A’ division club 15 lakh in the first installment, ’10 lakh in the second installment, and ‘750,000 in the third installment. The first installment has already been paid to the club.

Similarly, ANFA decided to provide 50,000 to the victor of each match, 25,000-25,000 to the tied match, and 10,000 to the man of the match.

Tuladhar claimed that despite submitting the memorandum to ANFA thrice, the demand was ignored. He threatened to take harsh measures if his demands were not met.

We did not request funds from ANFA or FIFA; instead, we requested funds from sponsorship, gate revenues, and television sponsorship. Because that is how much money we make from playing. The 15 lakhs arrived, then vanished. We fell into injustice. ANFA said to pay in seven days, but the money is yet to arrive. ‘We have already filed the memorandum twice,’ he said, adding, ‘and we will take strict action after the league.’

Similarly, Karma Chiring Sherpa, the former Chair of ANFA and the president of Himalayan Sherpa, stated that ANFA’s current situation is due to management weakness.

Sherpa claimed that despite the fact that football is gold, ANFA has been unable to sell it.

‘It became a tougher organization than a donkey’s hide. Even though the league is over, it does not appear that the money will follow. With A division in this state, how can we trust BC? ‘Football is gold, it has not been sold,’ Sherpa explained. Consider how NSL was marketed. You will find investment if you offer a well-planned proposal. Football, on the other hand, is declining due to a lack of appropriate administration.’

Machhindra Secretary Kiran Maharjan, Khumaltar Vice Chair Haribol Raut, Manang Chair Vijay Ghale, Sankata Chair Indraman Tuladhar, Himalayan Sherpa Chair Karma Chiring Sherpa, NRT General Secretary Narendraman Shrestha, Friends Club Chair Biswas Bikram Sah, Satdobato Chair Kapil Kishor Magar, Church Boys United Chair Tanklal Rai and three star club co-treasurer Devendra Lal Shrestha were present.
