RSP decides to give a vote of confidence to Prachanda
RSP Deputy Chair Dol Prasad Aryal (DP) stated that the Sunday meeting decided to cast a vote of confidence.

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party will support Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
RSP Deputy Chair Dol Prasad Aryal (DP) stated that the Sunday meeting decided to cast a vote of confidence.
‘Even on the Jan 10, the vote of confidence given to the Prime Minister has not been withdrawn,’ he told Makalu Khabar. We will also vote of confidence tomorrow.’
In the meeting held in Baluwatar yesterday, Saturday, 10 parties have agreed to give the vote of confidence to the Prime Minister on Monday March 20.
Prachanda, who became Prime Minister on Dec 25, was in the minority within 64 days. The reason for this is that the 78-seat UML and the 14-seat Rashtriya Prajatantra Party have decided to withdraw their support.
On Jan 10, the UML withdrew its support and left the government after deciding not to support UML’s candidate Subas Chandra Nemwang from its coalition for the presidency and instead to support Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Poudel. The RPP has also supported the government.
Prachanda formed a 7-party alliance with the UML on De 24, after breaking the 5-party alliance before the election.
After deceiving six parties, including UML, he formed an eight-party alliance on Feb 25, less than two months later. On March 9, two more parties were added to the alliance, bringing the total to ten.
On Jan 10, he received a vote of confidence from 268 MPs in the 275-member parliament, with all but two MPs supporting him.
