KATHMANDU: Patients are in distress as a result of the Nepal Physicians Association’s call to close non-emergency services in health institutions across the country.

When the service was terminated, the patients who had arrived/were being transported to various hospitals in Kathmandu Valley for treatment were in jeopardy.

The patient and his relatives went to get tickets in the morning, but the hospital’s security guards and staff turned them away, stating that the OPD service was closed today.

Bir, Teaching, and other patients who arrived at the hospital, as well as their relatives, were forced to leave disappointed.

While the doctors protest by wearing black bands around their arms, relatives of patients who have arrived at Bir Hospital have demonstrated on the road in front of the hospital, demanding treatment services.

The transport service was disrupted for a time as a result of the protest, but the protestors have now been removed by police.

After a trauma center doctor was injured by batons during President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s convoy on Feb 10, the union has decided to close all non-emergency services in health institutions across the country for one day today.
