KATHMANDU: Chitwan farmers protested by throwing their vegetables on the road.

They took to the streets, claiming that uncontrolled imports of Indian vegetables are preventing Nepali farmers from selling their produce.

They demonstrated against the government’s policies on Friday by throwing vegetables and various placards and banners on the road at Pulchowk in Chitwan’s Narayangadh Bazar.

They also carried placards with slogans.

They also expressed their dissatisfaction with the government for failing to provide fertilizers and seeds on time, for failing to provide subsidies, and for failing to manage the market for vegetables produced by farmers using their own plants.
