Dr. Durga Thapa, a psychiatrist from the District Health Office Katunje Bhaktapur, stated during a discussion with stakeholders on suicide, prevention, and mitigation that if it had been treated on time, this situation would not have occurred. ‘ That is why, she says, mental illness cannot be ignored: ‘Mental illness can be cured if treated.’
She stated that mental health issues should be treated in the same way that physical diseases are. “By taking medicine, counseling, and rehabilitation, it is possible to cure this disease,” she said. It appears that a campaign on this subject is required.’
