Acharya’s wife files police complaint

KATHMANDU: Nanuka Adhikari, the wife of Prem Prasad Acharya of Ilam, who committed self-immolation, has filed a complaint (against 12) mentioning the names of various organizations and individuals.
She filed a complaint at the District Police Complex Kathmandu asking for investigation and action to be taken against the crime of inciting suicide.
The complex’s head, Senior Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, informed the authorities that a complaint had been filed and that the incident would be investigated.
Acharya, who was seriously injured when his body was set on fire with inflammable material in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, on Jan 24, died on the morning of Jan 25 while receiving treatment at Kathmandu’s Kirtipur Hospital.
Nanuka Acharya, Acharya’s wife, has filed a complaint, naming the people and organizations mentioned in Acharya’s social media status before he committed suicide.
“I am submitting a complaint against the deceased husband’s death notice posted on his Facebook before committing suicide, based on evidence downloaded from my Facebook and my suspicions that there are 12 criminals,” the complaint states.
The names of colleges, companies, and industrialists mentioned by Acharya in his Facebook status are included in the complaint. ‘How did the incident happen?’ asks the complaint. ‘Necessary research will be conducted,’ it is stated.
