Over 100 Boko Haram militants killed by Nigerian air force in NE state
The operation was conducted last week following an intelligence report saying that a Boko Haram commander had moved to a village in Borno with his gun trucks.

LAGOS: Nigerian air force killed more than 100 Boko Haram militants in a recent air operation in the northeastern state of Borno, a military spokesman said on Sunday.
The operation was conducted last week following an intelligence report saying that a Boko Haram commander had moved to a village in Borno with his gun trucks, and was joined by extremist militants from other locations, said Edward Gabkwet, a spokesman for Nigerian air force, in a statement.
Scores of militants were killed in the first wave of airstrikes by the air force, and more were killed in follow-up strikes as some surviving militants came back to evacuate the bodies of those killed, said Gabkwet.
He said the operation was very successful as “over 100 terrorists were neutralized, with dozens said to be in critical condition.”
The operation has reduced Boko Haram’s capability to regroup and attack innocent citizens during the festive season Yuletide and the upcoming general elections, said Gabkwet.
