KATHMANDU: Bindaman Bista, a central member of the CPN (Maoist Center), has been elected to the Surkhet Constituency No. 2 State Assembly (B).

He defeated Tarakeswar Gautam of the CPN-UML by 4,575 votes.

With 31,682 votes cast, Bista secured 13,909 votes and won, while 9, 334 votes came in favor of his rival UML’s Gautam.

Mohan Singh Baduwal, the CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate who ran against Bista, secured 6,214 votes.
