Two dead, six seriously injured in night bus accident in Hetauda

KATHMANDU: Two people died in a bus accident near Churiyamai Temple, Hetauda-15, Makwanpur.

Six people were seriously injured and 30 passengers were injured in a bus accident on this section of the road under the East-West highway.

The deceased were identified by the District Police Office Makwanpur’s spokesperson, Tek Bahadur Karki, as being Dilli Bahadur Darji, 60, of Belbari Municipality-8 in Morang and Kalpana Rajbanshi, 51, of Damak-5 Model Campus in Jhapa.

Last night at Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-15 part of Makwanpur, bus No. 7 B 2032, which was traveling from Kathmandu to Damak in Jhapa, crashed after losing control.

After receiving medical care, 30 of the injured were released. According to the District Police Office of Makwanpur, two injured people have been sent to Kathmandu for additional care, and three others have been evacuated to Bharatpur. At the Sancho Hospital in Hetaunda, one person is receiving treatment.
