KATHMANDU: India got off to a winning start in the ODI series against Zimbabwe.

The Indian team on tour in Zimbabwe got off to a winning start on Thursday, defeating Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the first match of the series.

Chasing Zimbabwe’s small target of 190 runs, India reached the target in 30.5 overs without losing a wicket. Shikhar Dhawan scored an unbeaten 81 and Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 82 for India.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 189 runs in 40.3 overs. Deepak Chahar, an Indian bowler who took 27 runs in 7 overs and three wickets, was named player of the match.

India leads the three-match series 1-0, and the series’ second match will be played next Saturday.
