KATHMANDU: Scotland defeated Nepal by 8 wickets in the fourth match of the triangular series under the ICC World Cup Cricket League 2. Scotland achieved the target of 129 runs set by Nepal by losing two wickets in 19 overs.
Scotland’s Calum MacLeod scored 64 runs, while Kyle Coetzer scored 45 runs unbeaten. Similarly, after scoring 10 runs, Christopher McBride was dismissed. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami each took one wicket.
Nepal batted first after losing the toss and scored 128 runs in 35.5 overs. Aasif Sekh scored 40 runs for Nepal, captain Sandeep Lamichhane 22 runs, and Binod Bhandari 13 runs. Similarly, Dev Khanal and Rohit Paudel each scored ten runs.
Scotland’s bowler Hamza Tahir took the most wickets with four, while Mark Watt took three, Gavin Main took two, and Christopher McBride took one.
Scotland now sits second in the ICC World Cricket League 2 with 34 points from 24 matches. Similarly, Nepal is in sixth place with 17 points after 20 matches.
