“Parliament to be obstructed until the finance minister is fired,” UML stated
UML has been demanding that Finance Minister Sharma should resign on moral grounds.
KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML), the main opposition party, is preparing to obstruct parliament. The UML is preparing to obstruct parliament in order to force the resignation of Finance Minister Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar.’
“We have been demanding the dismissal of the Finance Minister and the formation of an investigation committee,” UML chief whip Bishal Bhattarai said. Parliament will also be obstructed today in order to demand the same. We will obstruct the parliament until our demands are met.’
UML has been demanding that Finance Minister Sharma should resign on moral grounds.
Finance Minister Sharma has been accused of fixing tax rates in collusion with unauthorized persons while preparing the budget for the fiscal year 2079/80. Since then, the UML has called for his resignation.
