Cholera detected in 14 people in Kathmandu

Two more cholera patients are being treated at Teku's Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital.

KATHMANDU: Cholera has been reported in 14 people in Kathmandu Valley.

Fourteen people were diagnosed with cholera and returned home after treatment, according to Dr Chuman Lal Das, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division.

Two more cholera patients are being treated at Teku’s Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital. Their health is said to be normal.

Dr Das also stated that the first person diagnosed with cholera was receiving treatment at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after his condition became critical.
