KATHMANDU: The death of popular singer Dilmaya Sunar has become a mystery. Police have launched a serious investigation into the death of the singer after the nature of the incident was different from the so-called ‘suicide note’ posted on social network Facebook.

According to police, singer Sunar was found dead in her own room at Baniyantar in Kathmandu on Saturday. Sunar’s Facebook status was made public on Friday night, stating that she was struggling to survive and that anything could happen. According to the status quo, she took the step herself and asked not to be blamed, but the nature of the incident was very different from the status and did not appear to be suicide, according to a police officer on duty.

Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for the District Police Complex in Kathmandu, appears to confirm the issue as well. He stated that additional investigation was being conducted as the incident was mysterious.

“The incident appears to be suspicious. More information will be released once the autopsy report is received. Police are still looking into it “Mainali stated. The singer’s body has been kept at the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for autopsy. According to Mainali, despite the fact that one person was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident, his name has not been released. According to police sources, the singer Sunar was murdered.

Sunar, a Surkhet-born singer, has a son. She has been living alone since her divorce from her husband, it has been revealed. According to the preliminary police investigation, someone had a relationship with singer Sunar and may have killed her.  The man was found in her room at Nepaltar in Kathmandu on Saturday morning and was arrested on the same grounds.

The popular artist has begun to press the police for an impartial investigation into the singer’s death. They went to the Balaju police station and demanded that the perpetrators be punished after the incident was investigated. The chairperson of the National Lok Dohori Pratisthan, Ramesh BG, stated that he had come to the police station with a demand for fact-finding because it appeared that she had been murdered. Chairperson BG also stated that plans are being made to file a complaint following the arrival of relatives.

According to police sources, the singer’s phone was not found at the scene. Despite the wound in the throat, the shawl was found outside the incident site, raising suspicions about the incident.
